Attorney General Steve Marshall announced the conviction of Tiffany Alexander Fields for the theft of hydrocodone tablets from a Montgomery area nursing home while she was employed as the facility’s director of nursing (DON). Fields was sentenced to 18 months in the custody of the Department of Corrections community corrections program and surrendered her Alabama nursing license. The Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit investigated the case after it was referred by the Alabama Department of Public Health. The investigation determined that from November 2022 to April 2023, Fields used pre-signed prescription pads left by the facility’s medical director to fax in prescriptions to the facility’s pharmacy. Fields then received the narcotics from the pharmacy’s courier and then kept the narcotics.
