Man Charged with Breaking into Pennsylvania Nursing Home

Mount Pleasant Police, in cooperation with the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office, charged a man accused of breaking into a nursing home by throwing a rock through a door. Mount Pleasant Police were initially called to the Harmon House on December 21, 2025, after a male threw a rock, through an ambulance bay door and was believed to be inside of the building. While inside, police said a nurse gave a description of the suspect to officers and told them he assaulted her as he made his way into the facility. Mount Pleasant Police called for assistance from surrounding agencies and cleared the building without locating the male. After reviewing cameras, they observed the male run toward Frick Hospital and located the male matching the description of the suspect waiting inside of the emergency room. The male allegedly told officers he ran into the Harmon House in an attempt to seek help and claimed he was being chased by three men. After further investigation and witness interviews, police said the male forced his way into the facility, set off the alarm system, and pushed a nurse in an attempt to get away. He is facing charges of criminal trespassing, simple assault, institutional vandalism, harassment, and disorderly conduct.
